Nice place 84 – House of Buonarroti (Florence, Tuscany)

Located in Via Ghibellina 70 in Florence, in a charming eighteenth-century palace, Casa Buonarroti is a house-museum where you can see many of the works of Michelangelo.
More specifically, it is interesting to observe the intrinsic connection that there was between the works themselves, the various phases of the life of the famous sculptor and the events that over the years have characterized his family. It is possible to admire two famous marble reliefs, masterpieces of Michelangelo’s early youth: the Madonna della Scala, an intense testimony of the passionate study of Donatello, and the Battle of the Centaurs, an eloquent sign of a never-ending love for classical art.
The Buonarroti family also worked to enlarge the residence, to embellish it, to preserve precious cultural heritage (including the important Archive and Library), and to collect rare art collections.
The beginning of the work is attributed to Michelangelo Buonarroti il Giovane.
