The first documents date back to the fourteenth century. In the nineteenth century it was almost completely rebuilt by the owner, Count Chigi Saracini, who turned it into a villa with garden and large park, which unfortunately disappeared in the surrounding woods. Of its original elements remain visible only the sloping base of an ancient tower.
