Villa Cavaglioni
Along the SS 223 road one can easily see the imposing entrance of the seventeenth-century Villa Cavaglioni: an elegant series of gates on which there are four splendidly aggressive bronze eagles. The villa has four large portals; two paired in the center and two on the sides. The name Cavaglioni appears for the first time in a document of July 1241, when Priest Giovanni from the church of San Lorenzo a Pilli, sold a piece of land for the price of 6 pounds to Messer Rustico Cavaglione.
