Site Transitoire
This stone monument was built by the French artist Jean Paul Philippe in 1993 and it'ss located on a hill between Siena and Asciano, in the heart of the Crete Senesi, precisely at the junction of three country roads between Mucigliani and Leonina. The installation is divided into three components that recall three positions of the human body: sitting, standing and lying down. The best time to go here is the time of sunset and in particular during the last ray on the evening of the summer solstice. The sun, accentuating the warm colors and dyeing a magic tempera a place that is already magical of its own, is perfectly embedded within the window without wall that represents the Site Transitoire.
