Pro Loco Sovicille
Known in the past as Taurisano, in 730 it was Warnefred’s farm (curtis), governor of Siena on behalf of the lombard king Liutprand. In December of that year Warnefred made a commitment to build, together with the rector of the monastery of S. Eugenio, a church dedicated to the most blessed martyrs Anastasio, Felice and Ilario. The church was later remembered in a papal note and on imperial diplomas of the XI-XIII centuries. The village of Bagnaia is now owned by the family Monti Riffeser and every year, in September, there is an important international horse event.
